Legal Assistant

Val graduated with distinction from an accredited legal assistant program and began her career as an assistant 20 plus years ago. As she has achieved over 10 years of practice time in the fields of litigation, corporate and wills and estates, she has earned her paralegal designations in these areas.

During the course of her career, Val has also gained significant experience in entertainment law, family law and even dabbled for a time as a criminal law assistant but decided quite quickly that was not the field for her.

She joined DHP Business Counsel as Doug’s assistant over 4 years ago and has enjoyed assisting Doug as he expands his business to include an associate and other support staff. With this addition, DHP is now a full-service law firm and Val enjoys assisting Doug and Aaron with long-term clients and new clients alike to provide the best service possible in all areas of the firm.

When not working, Val enjoys many diverse activities both indoors and out, depending on the season! With her children mostly grown and independent, she can now focus on her love of animals, literature. music and gardening.
